OAG: SFO Fraud Prevention Strategies for Public Organisations: How Well Does Your Organisation Safeguard Against Fraud?

To mark International anti-corruption day 2024 this webinar will feature the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) who will discuss their work on raising awareness about fraud risks and provide practical tools to help strengthen your organisation's fraud prevention activities.

The discussion will highlight the importance of all parts of the integrity system working together to combat fraud from a preventive perspective. SFO panellists will also share steps that can be taken to strengthen systems against fraud and the impact of raising awareness. The session will focus on the importance of acknowledging the reality that no organisation is immune from fraud and will introduce resources to increase awareness of fraud risk which leads to improved fraud prevention.

The discussion will be hosted by the Auditor-General of New Zealand John Ryan and our panellists are:

  • Rachael Jordan, Principal Policy Advisor, Serious Fraud Office, New Zealand will share the SFO's approach to Pacific Engagement.
  • Ian Martin, Principal Investigator, Serious Fraud Office, New Zealand will share his experience related to a recent investigations training he facilitated for Kiribati.
  • Shamilla Manikam, Senior Counter Fraud Advisor, Serious Fraud Office, New Zealand will share Counter Fraud Centre fraud awareness and prevention materials.

This event is led by Office of the Auditor-General of New Zealand but forms part of the advocacy and good governance programme of the Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions (PASAI).
