Fraud, Facts & Firewalls: Navigating Risk in the Digital Age

Overview:

The rise in cyber-related threats and complex fraud schemes has reshaped how organisations-especially small to mid-sized entities-approach fraud risk management and cyber security.

In this facilitated SPIG forum, we're pleased to welcome Nicoleta Croitoru, Director | Cyber from the Deloitte Christchurch to share insights into the Deloitte's work, and how her role intersects with the challenges faced by small internal audit practitioners.

Nicoleta will unpack key fraud trends emerging across Aotearoa, highlight risks tied to cyber vulnerabilities, and share practical strategies that small audit teams can adopt to strengthen their fraud risk frameworks-especially when operating with limited resources. She will also introduce useful tools and approaches available through Deloitte to support your internal audit practice.

This is a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the frontline, ask questions, and share your own experiences in a supportive, practitioner-led environment.
