IIA NZ Ethics for Auditors Training Course - Part 2: Advanced Ethics

Are you ready to continue your journey of ethical excellence?

Welcome to the three-hour online workshop, the IIA NZ Advanced Ethics Training Course, scheduled for Wednesday, 16 October from 9 am to 12 noon.

This session serves as your update to the intriguing realm of ethics and its profound importance in the field of internal auditing.

In this overview, we'll delve into the fundamental aspects of this course to give you a glimpse of what to expect.

Applying Ethics:

  • What are ethics? A quick reminder of what they are and why we should be interested in them.
  • What has changed in the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS)? What are the new and changed principles and standards' requirements?
  • What has changed in the legislative and other related statements? What are the changes to ethics in the protected disclosures legislation and the requirements for professional accountants?
  • What tools are there available to help us make ethical decisions? There are a number of potential Ethical Decision-making models to choose from. They can help us make decisions that align with our values and societal expectations.

The importance of ethics lies in the trust they build.

Our stakeholders and customers/clients expect consistent, ethical behaviour from us. We aim to be a "trusted advisor" and a valuable business partner to management, making ethics vital for maintaining trust relationships.

Course Benefits:

This training course is designed to assist IIA NZ members in fulfilling their annual CPE requirement of 3 hours of Ethics Continuing Professional Education. It builds on the concepts covered in the Ethics 101 course and takes us to the next level of how to apply an ethical approach to solving ethical dilemmas we may experience in our work and personal lives.

In the world of internal auditing, ethics are not just principles but the backbone of integrity and trust. Join us in exploring further the depths of ethical conduct and continue the journey that through scenarios and discussion will not only enrich your professional life but also solidify your commitment to maintaining the highest standards of ethical behaviour.

Registrations are now open and will close on Thursday 10 October 2024.

It is recommended that you complete the IIA NZ Ethics 101 course or undergo ethics training before enrolling in this advanced ethics course, though it is not mandatory.

Please note we require a minimum of 10 attendees for this workshop to go ahead.
