Welcome to 2026 and to the new membership tenure year with IIA NZ. It’s been pleasing to hear that the year has started well for many of you, positive and refreshing as we all come back online.
As schools and universities return, and workloads begin to build, now is a great time to lock in your IIA NZ membership renewal and plan your professional development early, before your calendar fills up.
Please take a moment to:
- check your membership renewal invoice has been paid by end of February, and
- confirm your contact details and email preferences are up to date, so you don’t miss key event and training updates.
2026 membership fees
At the IIA NZ Board Strategy Day on 3 November 2025, the Board approved a modest membership fee increase to support continued investment in education, advocacy, and member initiatives. With CPI sitting at 3% over the past year, the Board applied a smaller 2.4% increase, keeping the Full Membership fee below $600.
- Group members: fees vary by category (see Membership Fees webpage)
- Full members: NZD $599
- Associate members: NZD $475
- Overseas members: NZD $475
- Student members: no change
- Joining fee: NZD $50 per person, no change
All fees are in NZ dollars and exclude GST, along with any third-party fees, including credit card surcharges or international payment processing fees.
The value of your membership
Your IIA NZ membership is two memberships in one, connecting you to both IIA NZ and The IIA global network across more than 170 countries. By renewing, you remain part of a professional community that supports your growth, strengthens our collective voice, and showcases the value of internal audit in Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific.

- the IIA NZ Training Programme: Foundational Introduction to Internal Auditing Certificate in partnership with Massey University
- our 40th Anniversary Conference Week at Te Papa Tongarewa and Parliament
- nationwide Christmas Unity Events and ongoing Ethics, Data Analytics, and Learning Lab workshops
- a significant uplift in advocacy submissions, strengthening the voice of internal audit across Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific
Looking ahead to 2026, we remain focused on strengthening and advancing the internal audit profession, including exploring the proposed Chartered pathways to further recognise professional excellence and enhance standards across the sector.
